Solidarity in War and Health: Reflecting on the “Solidarity Ward” Exhibition in East Berlin

On October 23, 2024, the CRAFTE research team participated in a guided tour of the exhibition Solidaritätsstation 'Jacob Morenga': Namibische Patientinnen im Klinikum Berlin-Buch at the Museum Pankow.
The exhibition highlights the overt connections between the GDR and Afro-Asian liberation struggles, while also revealing deeper, layered dynamics of solidarity and anti-solidarity. While strongly recommending a visit, Maria Ketzmerick-Calandrino reflects on the exhibition's themes and situates its insights within her broader research on Afro-Asian solidarities in Cold War Berlin.
