"We arrived in the GDR and left Germany":
Cuban Experiences of the Fall of the Berlin Wall

 With this sentence, one of the witnesses interviewed for this research summarized the experience of witnessing the fall of the Berlin Wall. The present article intends to explore the experiences of several Cubans from Leipzig, Plauen or Dresden, who lived the collapse of one of the 'blocks', the socialist camp, in 1989. These testimonies, crossed by fear, expectation and ideological disputes, contribute to understand not only a part of Cuban history, but also of socialist Germany.
