Objects

The experience of meeting interlocutors and conducting biographical interviews has hinted at how actors have retained material memories of the past by preserving objects. A decorative show-piece, a miniature book, a peak-cap, a radio set, a brochure, a piece of the Berlin Wall– objects abound as memory-objects and as sources for revisiting and recounting the past. We display and describe several such everyday objects, which are present today in actors' private collections and have been reproduced digitally as photographs in the CRAFTE database.
